IBS: First Year Classes
1. How to Study / Mind of Christ Teacher: Ms. Terri Blanchett
This course will be the very first class you will take at IBS. It has been designed to function practically and spiritually. In this class you will learn the sure-fire principles on how to study. You will cover proper study habits as well as techniques to help you learn. This class is especially helpful to those who have not been a student for quite some time or for those who never really developed proper study habits from their former school experiences. This class also builds a firm foundational understanding and security that as a Christian you have the mind of Christ, thus enabling you to intelligently, creatively and spiritually walk in the Christian life with success.
2. Prayer And Intercession Teacher: Rev. Barbara Thorne
This class teaches the basic principles of intercessory prayer. In this class, you will learn the characteristics of intercession as seen in the scriptures. You will learn the principles of spiritual warfare and discover new levels of a fruitful and biblically sound prayer life.
3. Blood Covenant Teacher: Mrs. Jenny Travis
This class is sure to broaden your understanding of your covenant relationship to God. It has been designed to build your faith in the redemptive promises that are legally yours through the covenant blessing that is bestowed on all that believe in Christ.
4. Righteousness Teacher: Ms. Terri Blanchett
Our righteousness before God is not because of our works but because of the finished work of Jesus Christ. In this course, you will learn the life-impacting truth of the blood of Jesus Christ as well as the foundation of our Christian walk. The truths in this course have delivered many from the snares of condemnation and will invigorate your approach to God.
5. Ministry Of Helps Teacher: Ms. Terri Blanchett
This course will cover the practical and spiritual ins and outs of the helps ministry. It will explain the various areas in the local church body where the MOH is applicable, such as ushering, running the sound and many of the helps related areas. This course will show you how and where to get involved in your church body to be a blessing and fulfill the corporate and individual call on everyone's life.
6. Practical Ministries Teacher: Rev. Barbara Thorne
This course covers the practical and spiritual aspects of the five fold ministry gifts. Learn the characteristics of the offices of the Apostle, Prophet, Pastor, Evangelist and Teacher. This class will cover each of these five areas in detail and explain each of their functionings, attributes, and how they work together with the rest of the Body of Christ to fulfill Gods goals for the Church and for the world.
7. Holy Spirit And His Gifts Teacher: Ms. Terri Blanchett
This course will unveil the person of the Holy Spirit and His relationship and function our lives as Christians. You will learn about all of the giftings of the Holy Spirit and the characteristics of how they operate in the Body of Christ.
8. The God Kind of Faith Teacher: Rev. Barbara Thorne
This course will teach the principles of the life of faith. The Bible says, "without faith it is impossible to please God. This is because He designed us to live by faith. Learn life transforming principles as well as revelation knowledge on what faith actually is. Guaranteed to change the way you operate on a day to day basis, this class is another life changer.
9. Old Testament Survey Teacher: Ms. Terri Blanchett
Take a tour of the Old Testament on this overview of the first 39 books of the Bible. This course was designed to give you a foundational, working understanding of the Old Testament. You will learn cultural and historical contexts as well as overall biblical themes as seen in types and shadows. You will be amazed as you begin to see Gods plan of redemption and mercy unfold from Genesis to Malachi.
10. Healing Teacher: Rev. Barbara Thorne
It is God's will that we walk in divine health. In this class you will learn the biblical proof of Gods will to heal as well as the principles to receive divine healing for yourself and to minister healing to others
11. Total Man Teacher: Mrs. Jenny Travis
In this class, you will study the subject of man's threefold nature, spirit, soul and body. Learn the biblical difference between the inner and outer man as well as the characteristics of this three-part nature and how God intended and designed us to function.
12. How To be led by the Spirit
The Bible says, "For those who are led by the Spirit of God they are the sons of God". In this dynamic course you will learn the principles and characteristics of being led by the Spirit of God.
