Daniel 3 is a good
example of people who have their backs up against the wall and
things are not looking good. What had they done wrong? Nothing.
They were in a foriegn land, which didn't worship the one true
living God. They had maintained their faith without compromising,
so why the persecution? The leaders were mad and jealous of their
favor and comprised a plan to trap them. They then went to the
king and built up his ego. Then they talked him into building
a golden calf for the people to worship in honor of the king;
"and any one who didn't fall down and worship the false god,
would die". Shadrach, Meshach, and Abendnego would not bend
and bow. In fact they said, in verse 17, "Our God whom we serve
is able to deliver us from the burning fiery furnace, and He will
deliver us out of thy hand, O' king". Boy, did this make King
Nebuchanezzar full of fury. He demanded that they heat the furnace
seven times hotter. Things sure didn't look too good at this point.
The enemy was mad and it looked like he was winning. I want you
to notice something,Shadrach,Meshach,and
Abendego all said the same
thing
.They were in unity with their
faith.I can
just see them at each other and
sticking to their faith inGod.
But
into the fire they went. They are
being
thrown into the furnace.
But
wait, when they landed
on their feet and looked
around,
they noticed they weren't
alone! |

Don't fling away your faith in
God and His Word. He is still El Shaddai, the God that is more
than enough. Keep your tongue as a ready writer, with the Word
of God, not with doubt and unbelief. Stay in unity with Him and
His Word. It will see you through and bring you out. HE will make
a way where there is no way. Don't bend, don't bow and you won't
burn or fail. You and God are a majority and He backs up His Word.
In Acts 16:16-32 Paul and Silas are in prison. Their backs have
been beaten and they have been put in the lower part of the prison.
It was nasty down there. It didn't look good. They looked at each
other, feet in stocks, backs bleeding and dirty, and said, "Let
us pray". After they prayed they began to worship the Lord. Remember
God inhabits the praises of His people. As they worshiped the prison
began to shake from the very foundation.Their stocks fell off,
the doors flew open, fear fellon the prison guard, and Paul cried
out,"Don't hurt yourself we are still here!".Then the prison guard
received salvation and they were set free! Hebrews 4:14-16 tells
us that Jesus has passed through the veil to the other side so
hold fast toyour confession of faith for He gives help in good
time for every need, appropriate help and well timed help. Glory!
Romans 8:33-37 Who shallbring any charge against God's elect?
Who will condemn us? |
