UNTIY WILL UN-TIE

We as Christians are a part of the army of God and, in being so; we must remember what the Lord says in Joel 2: 7-8. It tells us not to break rank, nor are we to thrust upon one another. Psalms 133:1 says, "Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity!" This army of the Lord is to walk everyone in their places; not anyone else's but your own place and in so doing you walk in step with those around you. When you do this you will not be harmed or wounded (Joel 2:8b). What a protection and a promise. We must do as the psalms say and dwell in unity. When we begin to walk in the path of the Lord without causing others to stumble and not using our disagreements as stepping stones, we can expect God to move.
There has to be a coming together for the harvest that brings unity in prayer for our communities and cities. We must have one purpose and that is to take back what the enemy has held captive; our neighborhoods, towns and country. The first part of this war is to come into unity and the second is to pray. There is no defense against prayer! Heartfelt, impassioned and consistent intercessory prayer not only dissolves the power of sin's hold on human lives, but it also begets among God's people a new sensitivity to the Holy Spirit.
As we pray and pull down strongholds in our communities and cities, we disarm the enemy and then God opens pathways of service, to answer needs and heal pains in these places. I have seen it happen so many times and heard of other countries having a turn around and breakthrough in their communities. God is not a respecter of persons, however we must not tie His hands but rather do everything we can to keep unity and not fragment God's army. Believers must not be in their own little spaces doing their own thing. We have to reach across the barriers and unite for one purpose, the harvest. THE FIELDS ARE RIPE FOR HARVEST! I believe that we will make a difference.

Pastor Jack W. Hayford pastor of the Church on the Way in Van Nuys, California says it so well,

"Something is happening among God's people.
With cities and towns,
It's happening right now...
Two kingdoms are wrestling for the city's soul.
It isn't too late to win,
If we will rise up early.
Cities deserve a tomorrow too.
They're unable to possess it for themselves.
All children of Joshua arise!"

a divided kingdom is a conquered kingdom; a united kingdom is filled with conquerors. Let's be more than conquerors!

In His love and service,
Pastor Barbara A. Thorne
